Job summary

General Motors seeks a Mechanical/Powertrain-oriented engineer to ensure manufacturability of designs, meet cost, quality, and timing targets, and drive MR implementation. Collaborate with DREs and SQEs while leading cross-functional workgroups.

The role involves 10% domestic travel and a hybrid work policy (3 days in-office, 2 remote). The candidate will support DFMEA/PFMEA continuity, apply GD&T and datum strategies, and leverage CAE tools and VDDV for analysis.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering, or related field; Five years as Technical Preparations Engineer or similar.
• Master's in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Systems Engineering, or related field; Two years in related occupation.

Responsibilities

• Ensure designs are manufacturable and meet cost, quality, and timing targets.
• Lead workgroups with Manufacturing and Product Engineering to resolve issues.
• Support and attend PMT, PDT, and Workgroups meetings.
