Job summary

Kroger Great Lakes Distribution Center in Shelbyville, IN is seeking a Maintenance Battery Technician to perform preventative maintenance on material handling equipment batteries and to repair minor cable and connector damage. You must be able to operate forklifts, electric carts, and power tools as needed.

Responsibilities include maintaining battery charge and condition, keeping the work area clean, and adapting to overtime, nights, and weekend shifts.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with six months in a mechanical field.
• Limited Maintenance Industrial license.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents, manuals and instructions.
• Equipment maintenance experience and ability to troubleshoot malfunctions.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance on batteries and material handling equipment.
• Repair minor cable and connector damage.
• Maintain batteries and ensure they are charged and in working condition.
• Keep work area clean and organized.
• Work flexible shifts, including overtime, weekends, nights and holidays.
• Must be able to perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodation.
