Job summary

American Battery Solutions Inc. in Lake Orion, MI, seeks a Battery Electromechanical Engineer to develop and release key electromechanical subsystems for the Battery Pack and integrate them into the High Voltage Battery System.

You will work with cross-functional teams and suppliers to design, test, and qualify high voltage power distribution and sensing interfaces, ensuring performance, safety, and cost targets.

Qualifications

• Understanding of electrical system development principles.
• Effective communication of technical data to customers and suppliers.
• Familiar with lab safety protocols.

Responsibilities

• Owns selection, development, and integration of high voltage power distribution components.
• Maintains expertise in power switching, sensing electronics, contactors, relays, fuses, FETs, and current sensors.
• Designs high voltage interfaces between electromechanical components (busbars, cabling, FPC).
• Evaluates supplier information and validation data to select best components.
• Collaborates with BMS and Systems Engineering to develop control strategies and diagnostics.
• Supports manufacturing to determine cost-effective, high-quality solutions.
