Job summary

Hyundai MOBIS North America Electrified Powertrain, LLC in Montgomery, AL seeks Line Operators to learn the battery cell manufacturing process, follow plant technology and equipment, and support the assembly of battery packs.

You will work with anode/cathode processes, operate PLC/HMI controlled equipment, perform safety duties, and assist in material handling, line readiness, and housekeeping as required.

Qualifications

• Must understand metric weights and measures.
• Ability to monitor gauges, dials, or indicators to ensure equipment works properly.
• Demonstrates critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, and troubleshooting.
• Works well in a team environment and communicates effectively.
• Basic math and reading comprehension required.
• Comfort with computers and digital tools, including MS Office.
• Must wear PPE (glasses, gloves, footwear, etc.).
• Ability to stand/walk for scheduled shifts and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Able to work near production chemicals and navigate steps.
• Able to push a 40 lb cart and operate in heat.

Responsibilities

• Line Operators will be trained to follow the battery cell manufacturing process using plant technology and equipment.
• Operators will be trained on anode and cathode mixing processes and HMI control panels.
• Follow PPE rules and safety protocols for hazardous materials and equipment.
• Develop understanding of the battery cell manufacturing process.
• Develop knowledge of anode/cathode mixing and bi-product recycling.
• Monitor and troubleshoot formation systems using PLC.
• Use HMI to activate equipment and request materials for mixing validation.
• Load, inspect, and preserve materials according to department needs.
• Utilize automated devices and validation systems throughout production.
• Monitor processes and assist SMEs with troubleshooting and issue management.
• Operate equipment including crane pendants, conveyors, jacks, and other gear.
• Regularly clean machines and follow LO TO safety protocols.
• Perform hot melt/welding tasks and BMA skid cleaning.
• Detect line alarms and escalate to technician if no action within 3 minutes.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
