Job summary

Hyundai Mobis is hiring for line operator roles to support the assembly of battery packs in a US facility. You will be trained on battery cell manufacturing processes, including anode/cathode mixing and operation of HMI panels to control equipment.

You will follow strict PPE and safety requirements, monitor equipment using PLCs, and help load materials, troubleshoot issues, and maintain clean, compliant operations. Strong teamwork and communication are essential.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Line Operators will be trained to follow the battery cell manufacturing process using plant technology and equipment.
  • Operators will learn the mixing of anode and cathode and how to use the HMI and control panel to activate equipment.
  • Adhere to PPE, hazardous materials handling, and safety requirements.
  • Develop understanding of the battery cell manufacturing process.
  • Gain knowledge of anode/cathode mixing and bi-product recycling.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot formation systems and use PLCs to return to operation.
  • Use HMI to activate equipment and request materials for mixing validation.
  • Load, inspect, and preserve necessary materials/products per department.
  • Utilize automated assistive devices and validation systems in the process.
  • Work with SMEs on troubleshooting and issue management.
  • Operate equipment including crane controls, conveyors, hand-jack, etc.
  • Regularly clean machines and comply with LOTO training.
  • Perform hot melt/welding and BMA skid cleaning.
  • Detect line alarms and escalate to a technician if no action within 3 minutes.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Job description

Hyundai Mobis will assemble battery packs using cells from the battery factory, then supply them to the Hyundai Motor Group's US EV factory, where it will produce Hyundai, Kia, and Genesis EV models.

Roles & Responsibilities
  • Line Operators will be trained to follow the battery cell manufacturing process by using the plant's technology and equipment.
  • Operators will be trained on the process of Anode and Cathode mixing and the utilization of a human-machine interface (HMI), operator control panel, to activate the equipment.
  • Understand, demonstrate, and preserve workplace and process safety PPE requirements, including, but not limited to, hazardous materials, equipment, and other general workplace requirements.
  • Develop and employ an understanding of the battery cell manufacturing process
  • Develop and demonstrate working knowledge of anode and cathode mixing processes, including the bi-product recycling process
  • Monitor and troubleshoot formation systems, processes, and return to operations using Programmable Logic Controls (PLC)
  • Develop and demonstrate understanding and ability to use Human Machine Interface (HMI) to activate equipment to request material for mixing validation.
  • Load, inspect, and preserve necessary materials/products according to department
  • Utilize automated assistive devices and validation systems throughout the manufacturing process
  • Monitor processes and worked alongside subject matter experts on troubleshooting and issue management
  • Operate equipment, including manual pendant controls for crane operation, conveyor, hand-jack, and other equipment as needed
  • Machine clean regularly and record the results. (LOTO training is required.)
  • Hot melt / Welding Machine.
  • BMA Skid Cleaning.
  • Detect line alarms and take quick action. If no action is taken after 3 minutes, call a technician.
  • Additional duties as assigned

Pay Rate: Pay will remain the same as your current pay rate. Strong performance may lead to technician training and promotion.
