Job summary

The City of Springfield (MO) seeks candidates for an internal posting within the Springfield Fire Department. Qualifications

• Associate degree from an accredited college or university.
• Two years of cumulative service in the rank(s) of Fire Captain, Fire Training Captain or Fire Marshal.
• Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
• Equivalent education may be considered in lieu of an Associate's Degree.
• Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
• Must possess and maintain IFSAC certification through the Missouri Division of Fire Safety as Incident Safety Officer, Fire Officer II, and Instructor I.
• Must obtain IC 400 within one year of appointment.
• Must obtain or maintain professional designation through the Center for Public Safety Excellence.
• May be required to complete additional training or certification depending on assignment.
