Job summary

National Association of Women in Construction is seeking a Batch Plant Operator to control production and load-out of materials according to approved mix designs. You will lead batch plant staff, ensure timely supply to meet production targets, and operate plant equipment as required.

Candidates should have at least one year of related experience, basic math and MS Office skills, and the ability to communicate in English. Weekend and holiday work may be required in this role.

Qualifications

• At least one year of related experience.
• Experience operating heavy equipment (forklift, loader).
• Ability to understand appropriate uses of various mix designs.
• Ability to test concrete for conformance with mix design and specification.
• Ability to conduct moisture tests, yield calculations, and yield adjustments.
• Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite (Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Knowledge of production processes in concrete or similar manufacturing environments.
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic in all units of measure.

The Batch Plant Operator controls the production and load-out of materials produced in the batch plant according to established mix designs and specifications. This position directs the work of batch plant staff to maintain an adequate supply of materials in order to meet production requirements and operates equipment as needed.

• At least one year of related experience
• Experience operating heavy equipment - e.g. forklift, loader
• Ability to understand appropriate uses of various mix designs.
• Ability to test concrete for conformance with mix design and specification.
• Ability to conduct moisture tests, yield calculation and yield adjustment of mix designs for conformance with mix designs and specifications.
• Basic knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite - e.g., Windows, Outlook, Excel, Word
• Knowledge of the production process in the concrete industry or similar manufacturing environment.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
• Ability to communicate effectively in English on phones and radios
• Must possess leadership and training skills
