Job summary

Big Town Concrete, LLC seeks a Batch Operator to manage batching facilities, monitor production, and perform minor equipment repairs as needed.

You will record delivery statistics, read computer orders to set mix designs, print and file tickets, and assist the Dispatcher in balancing driver hours while ensuring DOT compliance.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and 1–5 years of experience operating equipment; a CDL is a plus and safety is emphasized.

Qualifications

PURPOSE:The Batch Operator has a wide range of duties which to maintain batching facilities, production levels, minor equipment repairs, report mechanical failures, and assist the Dispatcher as needed.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Efficiently operates batching facilities and maintains maximum production levelsOperates computer controlled batching system that transfers product from storage bins through weigh bins and into ready-mix trucksRecord daily delivery statistics and daily maintenance activitiesReads and interpret computer orders to control mix design and to set appropriate slumpUses computer to weigh product being transferred to each truckVisually monitors control boards and computer screensVisually inspect loading trucks to assure proper positioning for delivery of productPrints tickets on computer and separated accordingly to keep accurate recordsVisually inspect concrete on as needed basisFiles a copy of each ticketRecords all daily record keeping and paperwork as requiredMaintains material inventoriesDiagnose and assists in troubleshooting when process is interruptedDemonstrates good understanding of lockout/tagout procedure required during certain proceduresAssist in training of co-workers as neededAssigns and maintains raw material delivery ticketsSupply customers with accurate product and delivery informationAssist Dispatcher in balancing driver hours to assure equity and compliance with D.O.T. requirements as neededMaintain an excellent personal safety record and a clean/safe work environmentPerforms other duties as requiredKNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:Knowledge of plant operation, maintenance and electrical systemsThorough understanding of concrete processProficient in reading, writing, math and operational logicExcellent communication skillsExcellent personal safety recordCurrent knowledge of D.O.T. and C.D.L. regulationsAble to handle many/varied details in a pressure situation.Self-starter with a very high standard of expectation of himself/herself and those with who he/she works.Positive attitude toward other employees, customers, and supervisorsExcellent work ethic - punctuality, accuracy, and attendancePossess a valid CDL (a plus)Pass required physical examination and drug screens.QUALIFICATIONS:Education: High School Diploma or GEDExperience: One to Five years of prior experience operating equipment
