Job summary

Gainwell Technologies is seeking a Batch Application Programmer (C, UNIX/Linux) to contribute your skills as we harness technology to help our clients improve health and human services outcomes. This is a fully remote opportunity with the option to work anywhere within the United States.

You will design, develop, install, test and document applications software across server, client and web components, and collaborate with architects and developers to deliver solutions and ROI for clients.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of Software Design, Development, and Application Support experience.
• Hands-on experience with C Batch, Unix/Linux, and SQL.
• Experience with Python is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Software Design Principles, Operating Systems, and Application Development Policies and Procedures.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and collaboration with clients and cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, install, test and document applications software — server, client and web components.
• Design, document and deliver technical architecture solution elements.
• Coordinate between application architects and developers to ensure design requirements and ROI for clients.
• Define and develop project requirements, functional specs and detailed application designs.
• Develop technical documentation and test plans to support integration and deployment.

Your role in our mission

Apply your skills to support Gainwell as we help clients deliver better health and human services outcomes.

• Strengthen our capabilities as you design, develop, install, test and document applications software — including server, client and web components
• Play a vital role in designing, documenting and delivering technical architecture solution elements
• Support coordination between application architects and developers to make sure design requirements are accurate and deliver the desired ROI for clients
• Define and develop project requirements, functional specifications and detailed application solution designs for clients
• Focus on the details as you develop technical documentation and test plans to support integration and deployment
• Advance key goals and objectives for Gainwell and our clients by working closely with software developers

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of Software Design, Development, and Application Support experience, with on-call support experience preferred.
• 3+ years of hands-on experience with C Batch, Unix/Linux, and SQL; experience with Python is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), Software Design Principles, Operating Systems, and Application Development Policies and Procedures; Web Services Development experience preferred.
• Proven programming and technical problem-solving skills, with the ability to design, develop, and support solutions across multiple programming languages and environments.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients, senior leaders, and cross-functional teams to achieve business objectives.

• Willingness to work a flexible schedule to accommodate business needs and travel as required.

The pay range for this position is$58,200.00 - $83,200.00 per year, however, the base pay offered may vary depending on geographic region, internal equity, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
