Job summary

YMCA of Orange County in Fullerton is seeking a part-time Basketball Staff member to support youth and adult leagues, assisting with registration, check-in and scorekeeping while maintaining a safe, welcoming environment for all participants.

The role requires 16+ with a valid work permit; prior customer service and basketball experience are preferred. First Aid/ CPR certifications are required and training is provided and paid for by the YMCA.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 with valid work permit.
• Experience in customer service preferred.
• Basketball playing and coaching experience preferred.
• Must be able to work with children ages 3 to 15 years old.
• First Aid and CPR certifications required (training provided and paid by YMCA).

Responsibilities

• Inspect, prepare, and maintain fields and equipment for safety and enjoyment.
• Guide participants through registration and check-in; manage program paperwork.
• Officiate games and maintain scoring when assigned.
• Engage with participants and families to create a welcoming environment.

This position supports our youth and adult basketball leagues, including scorekeeping responsibilities.Location: FullertonWork Schedule: Staff will need to be available for the following shifts:Monday 4:00pm - 6:45pmSaturday 8:00am - 4:30pmOpportunities for additional weekend hours may be available.Purpose and Impact:Ensure Facility Readiness:Inspect, prepare, and maintain sports fields and equipment to create a safe, organized, and enjoyable environment for all participants.Facilitate Participant Experience:Guide participants through registration and check-in, manage program paperwork, and deliver clear communication of program details.
