Job summary

City of Eureka, CA is seeking a Referee for Men's Basketball this season. Games begin in early October and run through mid-December, on Monday and Thursday nights with 3 games per night at the Adorni Center and other Recreation facilities.

Under supervision, Recreation Officials officiate and supervise games, ensuring safety, directing players and coaches, and completing necessary forms. This is a temporary part-time role within the Recreation Division with training opportunities.

Qualifications

• Officiate sports programs with emphasis on safety and rules.
• Provide high level in-person customer service.
• Maintain facilities and equipment cleanliness.
• Respond to medical emergencies with basic first aid/CPR.

Responsibilities

• Direct players and coaches and enforce game rules.
• Communicate rules and sportsmanship to participants.
• Ensure participants are registered for respective teams and keep official score.
• Open/close facilities and prepare sites, including equipment setup/breakdown.
• Perform maintenance tasks and restock bathrooms as needed.
• Assist in health and safety compliance and incident reporting.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
