Job summary

The City of Kingman is seeking a part-time Youth Basketball Sports Official to officiate youth contests and support recreation programming. The position involves learning local and national rules, keeping score, and ensuring fair play and safety during games.

This role requires availability for evenings and weekends, with wage progression from Year 1 to Year 3 as outlined. First aid/cpr is preferred, and prior officiating or playing experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Minimum age 16 to work in Youth Program; Minimum age 18 to work in Adult Programs.
• High School Graduate or GED preferred.
• Prior officiating experience preferred.
• Prior experience in playing or coaching the sport being officiated.

Responsibilities

• Provide quality officiating during contests.
• Read and understand local/national rules of the sports officiated.
• Work at scheduled times and in appropriate attire.
• Develop a positive relationship with participants and educate when necessary.
• Enforce game rules and maintain safety and fair play.
