Job summary

Portland Trail Blazers @ the Rose Quarter in Portland, OR is seeking a Basketball Communications Manager to lead day-to-day media outreach, craft press materials, and coordinate game-night communications with a focus on storytelling that resonates with fans and media.

You will supervise a small team, manage relationships with local and national outlets, travel occasionally, and partner with senior leaders to shape the team’s narrative across platforms.

Qualifications

• Degree in Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Sports Management, or related field.
• Proven experience in sports communications, public relations, or media relations.
• Deep knowledge of basketball and NBA operations is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop and distribute press materials, releases, and advisories.
• Lead game-night communications operations and HoopsOMG management.
• Build and maintain relationships with local, national, and basketball media.
• Coordinate media credentials, pregame/postgame materials, and media hospitality areas.
• Travel occasionally to support the team and media engagements.
