Job summary

BASIS Phoenix is seeking a Boys Varsity Basketball Coach for the upcoming season. The position runs from November 2, 2026 through February 2027 and is part-time, seasonal work within BASIS Ed’s program.

Responsibilities include teaching basketball fundamentals, designing drills to develop skills, and guiding players in sportsmanship. Requires coaching and playing experience at a competitive level; HS diploma, Bachelor's preferred.

Qualifications

  • HS diploma (required).
  • Bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Prior coaching experience required.
  • Experience working with young athletes.
  • Ability to teach basketball fundamentals effectively.
  • Experience playing basketball at a competitive level.

Responsibilities

  • Teach fundamentals of basketball to young athletes.
  • Create and implement drills to build foundational skills.
  • Coach students in sportsmanship and best practices.
  • Attend all games, practices, or scrimmages.

Job description

BASIS Phoenix is seeking qualified candidates for a Boys Varsity Basketball Coach. Season duration November 2nd 2026 - February 2027. This is part of an auxiliary program and is not a full time position. Pay: BASIS Ed offers a competitive hourly pay for this position.

Required Qualifications
  • HS diploma
  • Bachelors preferred
  • Previous coaching experience
  • Experience working with young athletes
  • Ability to demonstrate basketball skills effectively
  • Experience in playing basketball at a competitive level
Preferred Qualifications
  • Collegiate student athlete experience
Responsibilities
  • Effectively teaching young athletes the fundamentals of basketball
  • Creating and implementing drills to help build foundational skills
  • Coaching students through best practices in sportsmanship
  • Attending all games practices or scrimmages
