Job summary

Gallup-Mckinley County Schools in the United States is seeking an Athletic Coach for Baseball for the 2026-2027 school year. The position is based at John F. Kennedy Middle School for the Spring Sport contract.

The role requires leadership to develop student-athletes and coordinate a school season; on-site attendance is mandatory. Applicants must hold or be able to obtain an Athletic Coaching License (7-12) from NM PED and pass the Fundamentals of Coaching exam, with a high school diploma

Qualifications

1. Has the ability to organize and supervise a total sports program.
2. Has previous successful coaching experience in assigned sport. (Major sports)
3. The head coach must have substantial knowledge of the technical aspects of the sport and, at the same time, must continue to examine new theories and procedures pertinent to the field.
4. The head coach must serve as an appropriate role model for student athletes through his/her instructions and actions.

Responsibilities

To instruct athletes in the fundamental skills, strategy and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success.
To upgrade his/her knowledge and skills through coaching clinics, observations, consultation, etc.
Work with students interested in sports, provide necessary practice support and advice for a team to be successful against opposing teams in a sports season.
