Job summary

Gallup-McKinley County Schools in New Mexico is seeking an Athletic Coach for 7th Grade Boys Basketball for the 2026-2027 school year. This on-site position focuses on teaching fundamentals, strategy, and conditioning to help players grow and compete.

The successful candidate will have or obtain an Athletic Coaching License (7-12) and a high school diploma, with willingness to work evenings and weekends and to model positive character for student-athletes.

Qualifications

• Must attach a signed Permission to Coach Form to application.
• Athletic Coaching License (7-12) required or eligible for licensure.
• High School Diploma or Equivalency required.
• Must obtain Athletic Coaching License from NM PED and complete the Fundamentals of Coaching exam.

Responsibilities

• Instruct athletes in fundamental skills, strategy, and conditioning.
• Supervise and support coaching staff as directed by Athletic Director.
• Work evenings and weekends as games and practices occur.
• On-site attendance is mandatory.
