Job summary

Willamette University in Salem, Oregon seeks an Assistant Baseball Coach to assist the Head Coach in all aspects of running the program, including workouts, practices, competitions, and player development.

Responsibilities include recruiting, academic support for student-athletes, video analysis, scouting reports, game planning, and coordinating travel and equipment; requires commitment to inclusion and adherence to NCAA Division III rules.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating student-athlete programs and support services.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent interpersonal and written/verbal communication.
  • Ability to communicate about athletics with clarity in coaching and classroom settings.

Responsibilities

  • Instruct, teach, and coach student-athletes during practices and competition
  • Conduct video analysis of games and practice for teaching and preparation
  • Direct practice and game preparation for a specific position
  • Prepare scouting reports for a specific position for game preparation
  • Work with staff on game plan
  • Identify and recruit potential team members
  • Retain current team members
  • Coordinate other administrative tasks such as video, team travel, equipment, fundraising as assigned by head coach
  • Assist with academic support services for student-athletes, including monthly meetings, grade checks, and game plan.
