Job summary

Valmont Industries, Inc. in Brenham, Texas is seeking a Base Welder to join our production team. You will set up and operate FCAW, GMAW, and SAW welding on steel pole shafts and components to produce reliable infrastructure for North America.

This weekend day shift on a 4th shift schedule runs Fri-Sun, 6:00 AM–6:00 PM, with additional hours as needed and a built-in pay progression at 90 days, 1 year and 2 years, plus an annual discretionary bonus opportunity.

Qualifications

Minimum 3 years of manufacturing or fabrication experience, OR graduation from or currently enrolled in an approved welding program.
Ability to pass and maintain FCAW, GMAW, and SAW welding certifications.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and fabrication specifications.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work with heavy materials.
Strong attention to quality, safety, and detail.

Responsibilities

Perform FCAW, GMAW, and SAW welding operations on steel utility poles and structural components.
Set up, operate, and maintain welding equipment; read blueprints and specs.
Plan and sequence welding operations for quality and efficiency.
Operate overhead cranes to move pole shafts and materials safely.
Use hand tools and measuring devices to complete work.
