Job summary

AiRCO Mechanical Ltd. in Round Rock, TX, is seeking a Submittals Engineer to translate project requirements into precise BAS documentation for HVAC and electrical interfaces.

You will assemble comprehensive submittal packages, including riser diagrams, network topology, and wiring schematics, ensuring compatibility and performance goals. In this role you’ll draft or validate Sequences of Operations, compile Bills of Materials, and support bids with design input.

Qualifications

• 2+ years programming with Tridium/Niagara, Spyder tool, EIKON, EC‑gfxProgram, and/or Controller Configuration Tool.
• History of proposing cost‑effective technical solutions.
• Experience building internal standards, libraries, or best practices for system design and engineering.
• Background spanning both initial design and ongoing support/service engineering for installed building systems.

Responsibilities

• Design BAS projects to scope and budget with equipment compatibility.
• Produce complete BAS submittal packages: riser diagrams, network topology, wiring for HVAC/electrical systems.
• Create and validate SOOs; confirm sequences meet system intent.
• Generate Bills of Material and precise engineered documents.
• Interpret drawings, specs, and estimates to select effective equipment and controls approach.
• Develop BAS designs including load calculations, equipment selection, and multi-system integration.
• Support Sales during estimation/bid phases with design input.
• Write RFIs with Project Managers; identify discrepancies early.
• Apply protocol integration: BACnet MSTP/IP, Modbus TCP/RTU, LonWorks.
• Maintain documentation of designs, wiring, and software configurations.
• Forecast and track design labor to meet budget and forecast goals.
• Coordinate with customers/vendors to ensure timely engineering.
