Job summary

Carrier Global Corporation, a leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, seeks a Building Automation Software Engineer (BAS) to design, program, and integrate BAS systems across commercial facilities in the Great Lakes region. You will collaborate with hardware, graphics, and operations teams, report to the Ohio Engineering Manager, and work in a hybrid setup with 1–2 days in the office.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of experience in HVAC or BAS controls.
• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, HVAC, building automation, or related engineering field.
• 5+ years in building automation industry (preferred).
• Proficiency with Windows operating environment and Microsoft Office.
• Understanding of electrical and mechanical building systems.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities.
• Familiarity with BACnet, Modbus, SNMP, LON, and N2 protocols.
• Ability to design integrations with Automated Logic software.
• Strong problem solving, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Design and program building automation systems and control algorithms.
• Configure site-specific BAS systems and develop control strategies.
• Develop interfaces using Eikon and ViewBuilder.
• Test programming and interfaces prior to deployment.
• Provide technical support to sales to meet customer needs.
• Identify project opportunities and risks and communicate them.
• Support functional testing for building systems.
• Maintain documentation of system changes.
