Job summary

Leidos Biomedical Research, Inc. operates Frederick National Laboratory and seeks a Building Automation System (BAS) Specialist to steward BAS/EMCS across laboratories, vivariums, GMP areas and central utilities.

You will own the lifecycle from programming to optimization, ensuring regulatory compliance and reliable operations. You will design and implement advanced control logic, perform trend analysis, and coordinate with Facilities, QA, and EHS teams.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or four years relevant experience; foreign degrees evaluated for US equivalency.
2+ years of experience with BAS/EMCS platforms (Johnson Controls, Siemens, Honeywell, Trane, Schneider).
Technical knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical controls, and central utility operations.
Experience with commissioning, fault detection, and energy management.
Ability to read schematics and PMMs; CMMS experience.

Responsibilities

Lead BAS projects including planning, scope, contractor coordination, and upgrades.
Design, configure, program, and optimize BAS control sequences for labs and administrative buildings.
Develop control logic, graphics, trend logs, alarms, schedules, and analytics.
Analyze performance data to improve reliability and energy efficiency.
Mentor maintenance personnel and provide technical consultation to stakeholders.
