Job summary

Amentum is seeking a BAS Operator/Controls Technician to join our Springfield, VA team, supporting a mission-critical customer. The role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities include maintenance and repair of building controls and automation systems, diagnosing issues, troubleshooting controllers, and ensuring energy-efficient occupancy comfort. Strong communication with occupants and technical proficiency are essential.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Training to read and write at a level necessary for performance.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in building controls and automation.
• Certification as a building automation system operator (Siemens APOGEE; BACnet).
• MD Stationary Engineer license level 1 or DC Stationary Engineer license level 3.
• Ability to lift up to 45 lbs.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel).
• Ability to use control technician hand tools and measuring/testing instruments.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair building controls and automation systems.
• Diagnose control system concerns and ensure occupancy comfort.
• Troubleshoot controllers, wiring, programs, and schedules.
• Ensure proper set-points and sequences; perform preventive maintenance.
• Interact with occupants in person or by phone; identify energy-saving opportunities.
