Job summary

APPA - Leadership in Educational Facilities seeks a BAS Maintenance Technician in Tacoma, WA. The position bridges heavy mechanical infrastructure and digital controls, leveraging BAS data and predictive diagnostics to ensure campus reliability and energy efficiency.

Qualifications

• Requires five years of journey-level experience.
• Graduation from an accredited technical trade school in HVAC/Controls or apprenticeship completion.
• Valid driver’s license required.
• Satisfactory pre-employment background checks and driving abstract.
• Ability to participate in a rotating 24-hour emergency on-call schedule.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, troubleshoot, configure BAS sequences and schedules.
• Perform advanced diagnostic maintenance on HVAC systems, chillers, AHUs, VAVs.
• Install and calibrate low-voltage controllers and sensors.
• Document activities in CMMS and support MTBF/MTTR analysis.
• Provide technical support during campus events and emergencies.
