Job summary

NRG Controls Inc. is seeking a BAS Service Technician to diagnose, repair, and maintain Building Automation and HVAC control systems for our clients. You will ensure optimal operation, energy efficiency, and compliance with standards while collaborating with the Service Manager and teammates.

The role requires 3+ years of BAS or HVAC experience, proficiency with wiring diagrams, and the ability to read schematics. Travel and after-hours support may be required as part of a rotating schedule.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or GED; technical trade school or associate’s degree preferred.
• Minimum of three years of experience in building automation, HVAC controls, or related field.
• Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, mechanical drawings, and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance, diagnostics, and repair of BAS and HVAC control systems.
• Troubleshoot control wiring, sensors, actuators, and network issues.
• Adjust and optimize system parameters for energy efficiency.
• Review control drawings, sequences, and schematics.
• Assist with system retrofits, upgrades, and integrations.
• Calibrate and replace defective components.
• Update software/hardware per manufacturer guidelines.
• Maintain service documentation and communication with customers.
• Provide after-hours and emergency service on rotating schedule.
