Job summary

Jobot is seeking an experienced Building Automation Systems (BAS) Controls Technician to install, startup, troubleshoot, and service HVAC control systems for commercial and industrial facilities in the Chicago area. The role ensures buildings operate efficiently by commissioning new systems and resolving technical issues for our customers.

You will interact with project managers, engineers, and clients, reading wiring diagrams and sequences while delivering reliable, documented service.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience servicing or commissioning commercial BAS.
• Experience with one or more major BAS platforms such as Schneider EcoStruxure, Tridium Niagara, Metasys, Desigo, Honeywell, Alerton, Distech, Delta Controls, or Automated Logic.
• Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, control sequences, electrical troubleshooting, and networking fundamentals.
• Ability to read electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
• Excellent communication skills and a customer-first mindset.
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel locally throughout the Chicago area.

Responsibilities

• Install, startup, troubleshoot, and service BAS and HVAC control systems.
• Perform controller programming, point-to-point checkout, and functional testing.
• Diagnose communication, network, and control issues to keep systems operating smoothly.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and customers on installation and service projects.
• Read and interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation.
• Complete service documentation and provide clear updates to customers.
• Deliver exceptional customer service while building long-term relationships.
