Job summary

The University of Florida in Gainesville seeks a Maintenance Supervisor to lead the Controls shop and keep BAS systems in buildings running efficiently. You will supervise staff and coordinate maintenance activities to ensure energy efficiency and reliable operation.

You will manage schedules, respond to BAS alarms, and oversee integration of HVAC equipment and building systems while maintaining documentation and compliance with standards.

Qualifications

• Completion of an approved apprenticeship program in a recognized trade or equivalent with five years of relevant experience.
• High school diploma or equivalent plus five years of relevant experience.
• Vocational training may substitute at an equivalent rate for the required experience.

Responsibilities

• Directly supervise and coordinate the work activities of the Controls shop staff and maintain the BAS systems in the buildings.
• Prepare work schedules, assign work, and oversee the work product of the staff.
• Rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals; perform a variety of complicated tasks.
• Exercise a high degree of creativity and latitude; direct and lead the work of others; monitor staff performance.
• Compile operational or personnel records, such as time and production records, inventory data, repair or maintenance statistics, or test results.
• Counsel employees about work-related issues and assist employees to correct job-skill deficiencies; recommend personnel actions.
