Job summary

Smart Building Technologies in Owings Mills, MD, seeks a BAS/Controls Technician & Programmer to plan, commission, and optimize our building automation systems.

Requirements include 3–5 years in HVAC and DDC, strong BAS control knowledge, and programming fluency. Tridium certification or Distech experience is a plus. Base pay ranges from $40.00 to $55.00 per hour with benefits and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in HVAC and DDC systems
• Deep understanding of BAS control components and strategies
• Familiarity with programming for building controls; Tridium/Distech a plus

Responsibilities

• Plan and prepare commissioning plans with designers and engineers
• Inspect and verify pre-installation checks for control components
• Test, troubleshoot, and ensure control systems operate as designed
• Integrate control components with HVAC systems for peak performance
• Document commissioning steps and train operators for ongoing system performance
• Program custom control strategies to extend system capabilities
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues to maintain seamless operation
• Collaborate with engineers, technicians, and project managers to deliver projects
