Job summary

McKinstry is seeking a Controls Manager to lead our Building Automation Systems within the Tampa, FL facility operations. You will act as the primary client contact for BAS vendors, ensuring accountability, quality control and alignment with client expectations.

This role requires 10+ years in BAS/controls, including programming, integration and energy management, plus 3 years in leading large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• Mechanical or Electrical engineering degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years BAS/controls experience with programming and energy management.
• 3+ years leading large-scale projects and strong project management skills.
• Willingness to travel up to 50% and ability to coordinate with multiple vendors.
• Familiarity with IT troubleshooting in BAS networks; strong problem-solving.
• Niagara certification or equivalent; AX/N4, Distech, BACnet experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee BAS controls vendors and monitor performance.
• Serve as main POC between client maintenance, construction, and controls vendors.
• Supervise augmented controls staff and prioritize tasks.
• Support pre-construction and referendum projects; review designs for BAS scope and integration.
