Job summary

KODIAK Construction Recruiting & Staffing in Lynchburg, VA is seeking a Building Automation & Controls Technician to install, program, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair BAS and HVAC controls in commercial facilities. The role requires experience with Tridium Niagara, Honeywell WEBS, JCI FX, BACnet, and LON, and a strong ability to diagnose system-performance issues.

The position is full-time and based on site in Lynchburg, with a salary range of $60,000–$80,000 DOE and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• 4+ years of HVAC or Building Automation/Controls experience.
• 2+ years of automated controls experience or equivalent technical training.
• Experience with Tridium Niagara, Honeywell WEBS, JCI FX, BACnet, and/or LON.
• Strong understanding of commercial HVAC equipment, including VAV, chillers, boilers, water-source heat pumps, and air handling systems.
• Knowledge of single-phase and three-phase electrical systems.
• Ability to troubleshoot HVAC and controls systems independently.
• Ability to read electrical, mechanical, and controls drawings.
• High school diploma or GED; trade or technical education preferred.
• Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
• Strong communication, computer, and documentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, program, troubleshoot, maintain, and repair BAS and HVAC control systems.
• Program and modify HVAC equipment, controllers, and sequences of operation.
• Work with DDC, pneumatic, electric, and electronic controls.
• Perform system integration, functional testing, and startup.
• Diagnose system-performance issues using testing and diagnostic tools.
• Read and interpret blueprints, controls drawings, as-builts, specifications, and submittals.
• Work with Tridium Niagara N4, Honeywell WEBS, JCI FX, BACnet, LON, and similar platforms.
• Troubleshoot controls communications, sensors, actuators, and associated field devices.
• Coordinate with engineers, vendors, contractors, customers, and internal teams.
• Maintain accurate service and project documentation.
• Follow all safety and regulatory requirements.
