Jobot is seeking a Commercial HVAC Controls Technician to join its Lynchburg, Virginia team. This hands-on role focuses on installing, troubleshooting, and maintaining building automation and controls systems across commercial facilities.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in HVAC service or building automation, with experience in DDC/BAS platforms and open protocols. A valid driver’s license and strong communication skills are required.

• Experience with DDC/BAS platforms (Honeywell WEBS, Tridium Niagara, BACnet, LON, JCI).
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities with HVAC systems.

Commercial HVAC Controls Technician

Location: Lynchburg, Virginia

Summary: Currently seeking a Commercial HVAC Controls Technician to join its growing team in the Lynchburg, Virginia market. This is an opportunity to work with a well-respected organization that delivers HVAC service, controls integration, mechanical construction, and design-build solutions across commercial and industrial facilities.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys hands‑on technical work, troubleshooting complex systems, and helping customers improve building performance through smart automation technology.

What You'll Do

• Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC building automation and controls systems
• Program and service DDC/BAS platforms including Honeywell WEBS, Tridium Niagara, BACnet, LON, and JCI Facility Explorer systems
• Diagnose control system issues, communication failures, and equipment performance problems
• Interpret blueprints, submittals, wiring diagrams, and HVAC control sequences

What We're Looking For

• Experience working with commercial HVAC controls and building automation systems
• Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic abilities with both DDC and mechanical HVAC systems
• Familiarity with open protocols such as BACnet and LON
• Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining strong customer communication
• Comfortable reading HVAC drawings, schematics, and technical documentation
• Knowledge of pneumatic, electronic, and electric HVAC control systems
• Experience with TAB processes and system performance verification is a plus
• Tridium Niagara N4 certification is a plus

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required
• 4+ years of experience in HVAC service, controls, or building automation
• 2+ years of direct BAS/DDC controls experience preferred
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to work flexible hours when project demands require it
