Job summary

HMSHost is seeking a Bartender in Newark to greet guests, take orders, mix beverages, and serve drinks and food while providing excellent service. You will communicate ticket times to the manager and servers, ensuring smooth operations and guest satisfaction.

The role is non-exempt, reports to the Store Manager or General Manager per local requirements, and requires professional bartending skills and a welcoming attitude.

Qualifications

• Must meet state minimum age for serving alcoholic beverages.
• At least 1 year of bartending experience in a high-volume environment preferred.
• Knowledge of beer, wine and spirits and their preparation.
• Ability to interact with the public and coworkers in a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing manner.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and takes food and drink orders; informs customers and looks for opportunities to up-sell.
• Follows recipes and/or product directions for mixing beverages.
• Collects payments and operates cash registers for drinks and/or food; follows cash handling policies.
• Follows alcohol awareness procedures to prevent intoxication and handles intoxicated guests appropriately.
• Maintains a clean, sanitized, and well-stocked bar; adheres to HMSHost policies.
