Job summary

The Galt House Hotel in Louisville, KY is seeking an experienced bartender for its Swizzle restaurant, a retro-inspired supper club blending 1940s glamour with modern flair. You will prepare and serve beverages and snacks, greet guests, and ensure excellent service.

This role requires knowledge of mixology, wines, and cocktails, with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. The hotel offers a comprehensive benefits package and a dynamic, guest-focused environment.

Qualifications

• Previous bartending experience required.
• Thorough knowledge of mixology, wines, liquor and cocktails.
• Gracious, friendly, patient attitude towards guests.
• Ability to multi-task in a busy environment.
• Willingness to work nights and weekends.
• Knowledge of food and beverage laws and regulations.

• Greet customers and present beverage menus.
• Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age.
• Take orders from serving staff or directly from customers.
• Record drink orders accurately into register system.
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes.
• Up-sell drinks and snack items.
• Respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion.
• Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift.
• Process transactions using the POS system.
• Prepare checks for customers and process customer payments.
• Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment and working areas.
• Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies.

The legendary Galt House Hotel is currently hiring an experienced bartender for the Swizzle restaurant- retro-inspired supper club blending 1940s glamour with modern flair- to prepare and sever alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages as well as snack items to our patrons; as well as ensuring satisfaction by providing excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and present beverage menus
• Check identification of customers to verify they are of legal drinking age
• Take orders from serving staff or directly from customers
• Record drink orders accurately into register system
• Prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks in accordance with standard recipes
• Up-sell drinks and snack items
• Respond promptly to requests from customers in a polite and professional fashion
• Attempt to limit problems related to customers' excessive drinking by following established procedures
• Process transactions using the POS system
• Prepare checks for customers and process customer payments
• Ensure clean glasses, bar equipment and working areas
• Comply with all health, safety and hygiene standards and policies
• Balance the cash register at the start and close of each shift
