Job summary

Hollywood Gaming at Mahoning Valley Race Course is seeking a bartender to foster a fun environment, host guests, promote events, and ensure alcohol service adheres to company policies and training.

You will handle cash and card transactions, pour drinks with measured portions, and maintain a clean, stocked workstation while complying with all regulations. Availability across shifts, including weekends and holidays, is required.

Responsibilities

• Responsible for fostering a fun environment.
• Responsible for being a gracious host to all guests and co-workers.
• Responsible for promoting a positive influence in the community and participating in company-sponsored events.
• Ensure interactions with internal and external guests follow the guidelines of the ACES Service Program.
• Monitor guest consumption of alcohol and intervene as needed according to company policy and T.I.P.S training.
• Promote gaming events and promotions.
• Process cash and credit card transactions for guests while maintaining the integrity of all financial controls and responsibilities.
• Prepare and pour drinks with proper measured portions, following proper building steps, and ingredients according to recipe and in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Preparing and maintaining par levels on garnishes, various ice, mixers and fresh fruit and herbs.
• Maintain a clean, sanitized and stocked workstation and or section.
• Comply with state, company, and department policies and regulations.
• Must have open availability including all three shifts, weekends, and holidays.
• Responsible for making servers drinks when rang in.
• Serve tables, clear tables, expedite food and running food.
• Side-work as directed by the Food and Beverage Supervisor or Manager.
• Will work special events, as needed.

Education and/or Experience: Must have one-year cumulative experience as a bartender, bar back or server or have completed bartending school and possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.

Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability: Be able to make quick, reasonable decisions regarding patron and team member interactions.

Certifications, Licenses, Registrations: Must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
