Position Summary

The Bartender in our Sorella by Giada restaurant is responsible for delivering exceptional beverage service and guest interaction in a high‑end culinary environment. This role requires deep knowledge of spirits, craft cocktails, wine, and beer, strong mixology skills, and the ability to create memorable guest experiences consistent with our upscale dining standards.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and serve alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages, including craft cocktails, wine, and beer, to meet restaurant standards.
  • Greet guests warmly and provide attentive, engaging service.
  • Recommend beverages and pairings to guests based on menu items and individual preferences.
  • Maintain expert knowledge of the bar menu, specialty drinks, and beverage trends.
  • Receive and prepare drink orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Operate point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and handle cash and credit card transactions according to control procedures.
  • Check age verification and comply with all local, state, and federal liquor laws.
  • Monitor guest behavior and promote responsible alcohol service.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the bar and stock supplies (glassware, garnishes, ice, etc.).
  • Restock and rotate inventory; report low stock to management.
  • Assist with bar setup before service and breakdown/closing duties after service.
  • Collaborate with kitchen, servers, and management to ensure seamless service flow and guest satisfaction.
Qualifications
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Minimum 1–2 years bartending experience, preferably in upscale or fine‑dining restaurants.
  • Certified in responsible alcohol service.
  • Strong knowledge of mixology, drink recipes, spirits, wine, and beer.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Outstanding guest service and hospitality skills.
  • Ability to upscale suggestive selling and upsell premium beverages.
  • Strong multitasking and time‑management skills in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment.
  • Professional demeanor and presentation.
  • Standing for extended periods; walking the bar area during service.
  • Ability to lift up to 25–40 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, reaching, and handling of bar equipment.
