Job summary

Shaner Hotels is seeking a Bartender/Server for the Four Points by Marriott Newark Airport on-site in Newark, NJ. You will take orders, prepare and serve beverages and light meals, and maintain outlet cleanliness while delivering friendly, efficient guest service.

Requirements include at least one year in Restaurant/F&B, reading safety documents, and good communication with guests and staff; HS diploma or equivalent; ServSafe or TIPS is a plus; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus; knowledge of

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of experience in the Restaurant / Food and Beverage field.
• Minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
• High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.
• ServSafe and/or food safety training a plus.
• Alcohol awareness training (such as TIPS).
• Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
• Ability to accurately compute basic mathematical calculations.
• Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele.

Responsibilities

• Take orders, prepare, and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and light meals to guests, courteously and efficiently according to hotel specifications. Maintain stock/supplies and cleanliness of outlet and equipment.
