Shaner Hotels is recruiting for a Bartender at Inn at Bellefield in Hyde Park, NY. You will take orders, prepare and serve beverages and light meals, manage stock, and maintain bar cleanliness while delivering courteous, professional guest service.

The role requires adhering to alcohol service and food safety standards, with emphasis on accuracy, teamwork, and a positive guest experience. Weekend/holiday shifts may be required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in restaurant/bar/F&B preferred.
• Must meet the minimum state age requirement for serving alcohol.
• Ability to read safety rules, operating instructions, and procedures.
• Ability to communicate effectively with guests, management, and co-workers.
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; some college education a plus.
• ServSafe certification and/or food safety training preferred.
• TIPS or equivalent alcohol awareness training preferred.
• Familiarity with cost controls and inventory management.

• Be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and varied shifts.
• Ensure compliance with and completion of all daily operational procedures within the Food and Beverage Department.
• Maintain food and beverage safety and quality standards in accordance with hotel, Shaner, and franchise specifications.
• Follow established departmental standards and procedures to ensure safe and efficient operations.
• Respond to and resolve guest concerns and complaints promptly and professionally to ensure guest satisfaction.
• Maintain effective communication with the General Manager, Department Managers, Supervisors, and fellow associates.
• Maintain cleanliness, organization, and proper sanitation of the outlet and equipment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

The Bartender will be responsible for taking orders, preparing, and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as light meals, to guests in a courteous, professional, and efficient manner in accordance with hotel specifications. Responsibilities include maintaining adequate stock and supplies, monitoring inventory, ensuring proper handling and storage of beverages and food products, maintaining the cleanliness of the bar and surrounding areas, and providing exceptional guest service. The ideal applicant will be customer-service oriented, attentive to detail, and committed to creating a positive guest experience while following all applicable alcohol service, food safety, and hotel operating standards.
