Job summary

AC Hotel Dayton, part of the Shaner Hotels family, is seeking a friendly Food & Beverage Server to join our on-site team in Dayton, OH. You will take orders, prepare and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages and light meals to guests, and ensure bar and dining areas stay clean and well stocked.

Ideal candidates have at least one year of restaurant or F&B experience, possess reading and math skills for safety and cost controls, and are comfortable working flexible schedules, including

Qualifications

• / Minimum one year of experience in the Restaurant / Food and Beverage field.
• / Minimum state age requirement to serve alcoholic beverages.
• / Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• / Ability to satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding.
• / High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred.
• / ServSafe and/or food safety training a plus.
• / Alcohol awareness training (such as TIPS).
• / Familiarity with food and beverage cost controls.
• / Ability to accurately compute basic mathematical calculations.
• / Bilingual English/Spanish a plus.
• / Knowledge of local activities and attractions appropriate for clientele.

Responsibilities

• Take orders, prepare, and serve alcoholic, non-alcoholic beverages and light meals to guests, courteously and efficiently according to hotel specifications.
• Maintain stock/supplies and cleanliness of outlet and equipment.
• Respond to and handle guest related issues pertaining to the department.
• Maintain communication with General Manager and other managers, supervisors and staff.
