Qualifications

Job Description Summary

Restaurant Server & Bartender (RS) are responsible for consistently delivering results that contribute to the mission and overall success of the hotel by accomplishing performance objectives across the food service venues. The Server sets up, services, and breaks down the food and beverage areas assigned, ensuring a high level of quality, consistency, and service.

Work Environment

  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • The majority of work takes place indoors.
  • Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures, such as kitchens and freezers.

Physical Demands

  • Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or move objects.
  • Frequent bending, kneeling, and reaching.
  • Ability to stand for the entire shift.

Expected Hours of Work

  • Must be flexible to work variable days, including weekends and holidays.
  • Must be flexible to work variable shifts (days, nights, overnights).
  • Ten to twelve-hour shifts may be required.

Education and Experience

  • Two years of experience as a server in a full-service restaurant preferred, preferably in a fine dining establishment.
  • High school diploma or GED preferred.

Principle duties and responsibilities (Essential Functions):

  • Greet and acknowledge all arriving guests promptly and professionally. Engage and interact with guests appropriately. Respond to guests’ questions and requests.
  • Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu.
  • Serve food and beverage orders, checking for correct temperature, appearance, and portions. Refill when necessary.
  • Operate POS system, verify food orders, and ensure prompt transmission. Adhere to all cash handling and credit card policies and procedures.
  • Periodically check-in with tables to ensure guests’ expectations are met and exceeded.
  • Maintain cleanliness and proper condition of dining areas, stations, and equipment.
  • Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned.
  • Follow safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Adhere to uniform and grooming standards.
  • Perform other duties or projects as requested by management.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and colleagues.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work quickly without compromising quality.
  • Ability to work independently and maintain high performance levels.
  • Must be able to stand and move quickly throughout the entire shift.
  • Ability to work well as part of a team.
  • Food handlers and TIPS certifications required.
  • Previous front-facing guest service experience required.
  • Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English.
  • Experience with computerized cash registers preferred.
