Job summary

Oak View Group is seeking a part-time Bartender in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. The role focuses on serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages in a fast-paced environment, with a flexible schedule including nights and weekends. The position pays $14.00–$16.00 per hour and is eligible for tips.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
• Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
• Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol.
• Learn about various beer, wine varieties & spirits and upsell to guests.
• Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
• Check guest IDs to verify age requirements for alcohol purchase.
• Communicate a cut-off to guests as required.
• Respond to customer requests or concerns.
• De-escalate intoxicated guest situations and contact management or security as needed.
• Communicate with management if unable to resolve beyond standard decisions.
• Request additional product or restock as required.
• Handle cash accurately and manage the bar’s issued bank.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary workstation and well-maintained bar equipment.
• Assist with setup/breakdown of bar equipment and organize the cooler as needed.

Position Summary

The Bartender is responsible for the service of all beverages, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic. They must be personable, professional, and able to work in an ever-changing fast-paced environment. The employee must maintain excellent attendance and be available to work events as scheduled per business need.

This role pays an hourly rate of $14.00-$16.00 and is tip eligible.

About The Venue

The Thief River Falls Complex is a multi-venue complex in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. The complex includes the Ralph Engelstad Arena, Huck Olson Memorial Civic Center, the Multi Events Center, and the Thief River Falls Tourist Park.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in the areas of guest service, interaction with co-workers, and uniform standards.
• Follow the bar pre-shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
• Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol.
• Responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available and being able to learn to suggestively upsell products to guests.
• Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
• Check guest’s ID in accordance with state/federal regulations to verify the minimum age requirement for the purchase of alcoholic beverages.
• Communicate a cut-off to a guest as required.
• Listening and responding to any customer requests or concerns.
• Bartenders are expected to de-escalate intoxicated guest situations. If a guest becomes confrontational, belligerent, or uses extreme profanity, the bartender may contact management or security as required.
• Contact a management member if he/she is unable to resolve or make a decision beyond the scope of standard decision-making.
• Request additional product or restock product as required.
• Handling cash accurately. The employee is responsible for the issued bank at his/her bar.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation at all times. Ensures bar equipment is clean & well maintained.
• Other duties as assigned, such as set-up and breakdown of bar equipment as required and assisting with organization of the cooler.

Qualifications
