Job summary

Fairmont Pittsburgh, part of Accor, is seeking a skilled Bartender to deliver exceptional service in a luxury bar environment. You will be responsible for guest interactions, cocktail preparation, wine knowledge, inventory, and cash handling, while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere.

The role requires excellent communication, reliability, and the ability to work under pressure in a busy setting, contributing to a world-class guest experience at our property.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of bartending experience in a fast-paced, high-end bar or luxury property
• Ramp Certification and Mixology certification are assets
• Operational knowledge of Point of Sale (POS) systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly responsible and reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment and as part of a team

Job description

Summary of Responsibilities

Reporting to the Restaurant General Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offers professional, engaging and friendly service
• Create a welcoming environment
• Knowledgeable of wine & cocktails offered
• Beverage inventory
• Bar set up, tear down and preparation of garnishes and mixes
• Stool and Service Bartending
• Cash handling
• Provide responsible service of alcohol
• Assist guests with enquiries
• Review daily reports, arrival's, VIP's and groups in house
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year experience required as a Bartender in a fast-paced, high-end bar / luxury property and/or substantial Fairmont food & beverage experience (minimum of 6 months) in a high volume bartending capacity
• Ramp Certified and Mixology certification an asset
• Operational knowledge and proficiency in Point of Sale System
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly responsible & reliable
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment, while working cohesively as part of a team
• Ability to focus attention on guest needs, remaining calm and courteous at all times

Visa Requirements

Must have proof of valid U.S. work authorization.

Physical Aspects of Position

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Frequent lifting and carrying up to 50lbs
• Occasional kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Occasional ascending or descending ladders, stairs and ramps
• Ability to stand and be mobile for up to 8 hours
• Ability to move quickly and efficiently
