Job summary

Rancho Santa Fe Association is seeking an experienced bartender to join its bar, lounge, and patio service, including Member events. Deliver refined, personalized service and ensure guest satisfaction in a private club setting.

Responsibilities include crafting classic and craft cocktails, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining inventory, processing charges, and coordinating with servers and kitchen staff. Must be 21+, 2–3 years upscale bartending, and certifications.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2-3 years bartending experience in a high-volume, upscale restaurant, hotel, or private club.
• Current RBS (Responsible Beverage Service) certification and Food Handler card, or ability to obtain.
• TIPS or equivalent alcohol service certification preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of classic and craft cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer.
• Excellent communication and guest service skills.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Flexible availability; ability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Processes Member charges via the Club's POS system.
• Builds rapport with Members and guests; learns names and preferences for personalized service.
• Provides bar service for tournaments, private events, and Member functions as scheduled.
• May perform other duties as needed to support operations and teamwork.
• Maintains compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards.
• Ensures staff grooming and uniform standards.

FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for the preparation and service of beverages in the Club's bar, lounge, and patio, as well as at Member events. Delivers refined, persoalized service consistent with the standards of a private Member-owned club. Ensures satisfaction of all Members and guests at all times.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Prepares and serves classic and craft cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages according to Club recipes and standards.
• Maintains thorough knowledge of the Club's wine list, spirits selection, and seasonal beverage offerings to make informed recommendations to Members and guests.
• Checks identification and monitors alcohol consumption, refusing service responsibly and in compliance with California ABC regulations and Club policy.
• Maintains a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar station; completes opening and closing side work, including inventory counts and requisitions.
• Accurately processes Member account charges via the Club's point-of-sale system.
• Builds genuine rapport with Members and their guests, learning names and preferences to deliver consistently personalized service.
• Provides bar service for tournaments, private events, banquets, and Member functions as scheduled.
• Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club's operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different duties; therefore, an essential part of the position will be to help others when the occasion arises.
• Maintains full compliance with health, safety, and sanitation standards at all times.
• Ensures all staff is in proper uniform and meets grooming standards.
• Assists in beverage inventory as needed.
• Coordinates closely with servers, food runners, and kitchen staff to ensure seamless, well-timed service.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

HOURLY RATE

$16.90
