Job summary

Rancho Santa Fe Association is seeking a Food Runner to ensure dishes reach Members promptly, accurately, and at the proper temperature with presentation standards. You will be a vital link between kitchen and dining room, supporting servers and expo during busy service.

Qualifications

• Prior food running, serving, or kitchen experience preferred.
• Food Handler certification, or ability to obtain.

Responsibilities

• Retrieve completed dishes from the kitchen and verify accuracy against the ticket.
• Deliver food to the correct table and seat promptly, confirming course and item accuracy with the guest.
• Communicate delays, discrepancies, or quality concerns to the expo and kitchen team immediately.
• Maintain knowledge of daily menu items, specials, and preparations to answer guest questions.
• Assist with plate presentation and garnish checks prior to service.
• Help others during peak service periods and support servers and bussers.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the expo line and runner stations.
• Follow food safety protocols for proper holding times and temperatures.

Date: Monday, September 28 from 12:00pm-6:00pm

Tuesday, September 29 from 9:00am -12:00pm and 4:00pm - 7:00pm

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for ensuring every dish leaves the kitchen and reaches the Member's table promptly, accurately, and at the proper temperature and presentation standard, serving as a critical link between the kitchen and dining room.

MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Retrieves completed dishes from the kitchen pass and verifies accuracy against the ticket before delivery.
• Delivers food to the correct table and seat promptly, confirming course and item accuracy with the guest.
• Communicates any delays, discrepancies, or quality concerns to the expo and kitchen team immediately.
• Maintains working knowledge of daily menu items, specials, and preparations to answer basic Member questions.
• Assists with plate presentation and garnish checks prior to service.
• Because of the fluctuating demands of the Club's operation, it may be necessary that each employee perform a multitude of different duties; therefore, as an essential part of this position is to help others when the occasion arises.
• Supports servers and bussers with clearing and resetting tables during peak service periods.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of the expo line and runner stations.
• Follows food safety protocols for proper holding times and temperatures.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS:

• Prior food running, serving, or kitchen experience preferred
• Food Handler certification, or ability to obtain
• Strong sense of urgency, organization, and attention to detail
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Hourly Rate: $16.90

All offers are contingent upon a successful background check as well as a drug screening. We follow Federal guidelines related to drug screening results, prior to appointment of position.
