Job Summary

The bartender prepares and serves beverages in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Adhere to liquor laws and regulations regarding serving alcohol to minors and intoxicated guests.
2. Set up assigned bars, stock all necessary supplies including beer, wine, spirits, glassware, and garnishes.
3. Maintain stock and prepare garnishes, juices, and perishables to ensure quality.
4. Greet guests courteously.
5. Take and process drink orders; mix, garnish, and present drinks following recipes; practice portion control.
6. Check IDs to verify guest age.
7. Detect guest intoxication and act accordingly, demonstrating knowledge of liquor laws.
8. Handle cash transactions accurately and record charges properly.
9. Secure beverage products, cash, and equipment after shifts.
10. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area.
11. Arrange bottles and glasses attractively.
12. Wash and sterilize stemware.
13. Perform other duties as assigned.
