Job summary

The Greystone Inn in Lake Toxaway, NC is seeking a bartender to be the face of our bar, delivering friendly service and quality drinks. You will engage with guests, suggest beverages, and stay current with beverage trends in a fast-paced hospitality setting.

• Stand for shift and lift up to 15 lbs as needed
• Navigate stairs regularly

The Position

Lake Toxaway at our front door, the North Carolina mountains at our back door. And in between, a gathering place and restaurant for our guests. As a Bartender at The Greystone Inn, you are the face of our bar area, creating a fun and welcoming environment for our patrons. If you are reliable, work with a sense of urgency, and interact well with customers, you will be very successful in “wowâ€ing our guests.

Additional responsibilities include:

• Provide friendly and attentive service that makes guests feel valued
• Having a thorough knowledge of our food and beverage menus, making suggestions and producing quality drinks
• Staying up to date with beverage trends
• Building good rapport with our regulars, keeping relationships professional and personalized
• Opening and closing responsibilities as assigned

Qualifications

• 21 or older
• Experienced in one year or more of bartending experience
• Working well in a team setting, including with other employees including front and back end of the house
• Good sense of judgment and assessment in ability to interact with customers who are drinking
• Keen aware of surroundings and observational skills
• Good communication skills
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment and handle multiple priorities
• Ability to stand throughout shift and occasionally lift up to 15 lbs.
• Ability to navigate steps/stairs on a regular basis
