Job summary

FirstService Residential is seeking a Bartender to support the Food & Beverage Operations under the oversight of the F&B Operational Manager. You will oversee daily restaurant and bar operations, train new staff, and assist with catering and special events to elevate the dining experience for the community.

Responsibilities include upselling cocktails, serving patrons, maintaining sanitation standards, handling orders, and processing payments.

Qualifications

• GED or High School Diploma.
• At least 1 year kitchen experience.
• Excellent verbal communication skills required.
• Knowledgeable of proper food handling procedures.
• Strong customer service, communication and interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Strong understanding of house cocktails, specialty drinks, and bar operations.
• Help servers with alcohol related menu questions.
• Protect establishment and patrons by adhering to sanitation, safety, and alcohol beverage control policies.
• Help patrons select food and beverages by presenting menu; offering cocktails; suggesting courses; explaining the chef's specialties; identifying appropriate wines; answering food preparation questions.
• Transmit orders to bar and kitchen by recording patrons' choices, identifying patrons' special dietary needs and special requests.
• Serve orders by picking up and delivering patrons' choices from bar and kitchen; deliver accompaniments and condiments from service bars.
• Maintain table setting by removing courses as completed; replenishing utensils; refilling water glasses; being alert to patron spills or other special needs.
• Properly open and pour wine at the tableside.
• Obtain revenues by totaling charges; issuing bill; accepting payment; returning credit card and signature slip to patrons.
