Oak View Group in Lawrence, KS is seeking a personable Bartender to serve alcoholic and non‑alcoholic beverages in a fast-paced environment. The role requires excellent attendance and flexibility to work events as needed.

Responsibilities include following bar procedures, checking IDs, upselling, handling cash accurately, maintaining a clean workstation, and collaborating with team. This hourly position offers a $12.00–$15.00 pay range and tip eligibility.

Qualifications

• Six months or more experience bartending.
• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Bartending school preferred.
• Accurate cash handling skills required.
• Ability to prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to be self‑directed while working in a team‑oriented environment.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and long hours.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate ability to meet the company standard for excellence in guest service, interaction with co‑workers, and uniform standards.
• Follow the bar pre‑shift notes and bar menus and provide service as described.
• Serve alcoholic beverages following all proper procedures for serving alcoholic drinks, including state/federal regulations pertaining to the distribution of alcohol.
• Responsible for learning or having knowledge of various beer, wine varieties & spirits available and being able to upsell products to guests.
• Pour drinks responsibly in accordance with company standards for serving size.
• Check the guest's ID to verify the minimum age requirement for purchase of alcoholic beverages.
• Communicate a cut‑off to a guest as required.
• Listening and responding to customer requests or concerns.
• Bartenders are expected to de‑escalate intoxicated guest situations; contact management or security if needed.
• Contact a management member if unable to resolve or make a decision beyond standard scope.
• Request additional products or restock products as needed.
• Responsible for the issued bank at the bar.
• Maintains a clean and sanitary workstation; ensure bar equipment is clean and well maintained.
• Other duties may include setting up/breaking down bar equipment and organizing the cooler.
