Job summary

A leading restaurant in the Town of Brookfield is looking for a Bartender to mix and serve alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Qualifications

  • Must possess a valid food handler's card prior to employment.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Able to lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds regularly.
  • Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant.
  • Must obtain or possess and/or obtain a valid food handler’s card prior to employment.
  • In Oregon must obtain OLCC Liquor permit within 30 days of hire.
  • Must be 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

  • Mix and serve drinks following specifications.
  • Interact with bar guests to create a friendly atmosphere.
  • Present checks and handle transactions.
  • Completes assigned opening and closing side work.
  • Slices fruit and vegetable garnishes for drinks.
  • Present guest checks to bar patrons. Makes change and/or completes any necessary charge card transactions.
  • Processes employee and/or manager food orders.
  • Relays food orders to kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system.
  • Completes extra cleaning tasks as assigned.

Job description

Primary Responsibilities

Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks following specifications. Serves food drinks to guests in a courteous and timely manner.

Specific Functions and Duties
  1. Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and fruit juice to prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
  2. Interacts verbally with all bar guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere.
  3. Serves food and drinks to all bar guests.
  4. Completes assigned opening and closing side work.
  5. Slices fruit and vegetable garnishes for drinks.
  6. Present guest checks to bar patrons. Makes change and/or completes any necessary charge card transactions.
  7. Processes employee and/or manager food orders.
  8. Relays food orders to kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system.
  9. Completes extra cleaning tasks as assigned.
Qualification Standards
  1. Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required.
  2. Able to operate blenders, frozen drink machines and other bar equipment.
  3. Transports and carries objects up to 15 pounds on a regular basis.
  4. Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant.
  5. Must obtain or possess and/or obtain a valid food handler’s card prior to employment.
  6. In Oregon must obtain OLCC Liquor permit within 30 days of hire.
  7. Must be 21 years of age.
Physical Requirements
  1. Stands entire shift.
  2. Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other staff members.
  3. Must have good sense of balance, be able to bend and kneel and lift bus trays, tubs, and glass racks frequently weighing 25 pounds.
Wages
  1. Minimum wage plus tips.
  2. Merit increases based upon performance.
  3. Semi-annual performance evaluations.
