Job summary

Workstream is hiring for a bartender/food server role at a high-energy dining concept featuring two brands. The position requires mixing drinks, serving guests, and maintaining a clean, efficient service area. You will interact with guests in a friendly, upbeat atmosphere while handling payments and supporting kitchen operations.

The role emphasizes timely service, accuracy in order taking, and daily side work, with opportunities to grow within a dynamic hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required.
• Able to operate blenders, drink machines and other bar equipment.
• Must be 21 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Mixes alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages per specifications.
• Interacts with guests to create a friendly, upbeat atmosphere.
• Serves food and drinks to bar guests promptly and courteously.
• Completes opening and closing side work as assigned.
• Prepares fruit/vegetable garnishes for drinks.
• Presents guest checks and handles related transactions.
• Relays food orders to the kitchen via the POS system.
• Performs additional cleaning tasks as assigned.

Primary Responsibilities:

Mixes and serves alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks following specifications. Serves food drinks to guests in a courteous and timely manner.

Specific Functions and Duties:

• Mixes ingredients such as liquor, soda, water, and fruit juice to prepare alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Interacts verbally with all bar guests creating a friendly and upbeat atmosphere.
• Serves food and drinks to all bar guests.
• Completes assigned opening and closing side work.
• Slices fruit and vegetable garnishes for drinks.
• Presents guest checks to bar patrons. Makes change and/or completes any necessary charge card transactions.
• Processes employee and/or manager food orders.
• Relays food orders to kitchen via the point-of-sale computerized register system.
• Completes extra cleaning tasks as assigned.

Qualification Standards:

• Reading, writing, basic math and verbal communication skills required.
• Able to operate blenders, frozen drink machines and other bar equipment.
• Transports and carries objects up to 15 pounds on a regular basis.
• Ability to wipe down table tops, table legs, pick up debris off the floor and wipe down booth seats in all areas of the restaurant.
• Must obtain or possess and/or obtain a valid food handler’s card prior to employment.
• In Oregon must obtain OLCC Liquor permit within 30 days of hire.
• Must be 21 years of age.

Physical Requirements:

• Stands entire shift.
• Must be able to speak clearly and listen attentively to guests and other staff members.
• Must have good sense of balance, be able to bend and kneel and lift bus trays, tubs, and glass racks frequently weighing 25 pounds.

Wages

• Minimum wage plus tips.
• Merit increases based upon performance.
• Semi-annual performance evaluations.
