Job summary

Keke’s Café in Sunnyvale is seeking a Bartender to deliver exceptional service, craft beverages, and maintain a clean, organized bar. You’ll engage guests, greet them, and upsell recommendations while ensuring adherence to brand standards and safety practices.

The role includes opening/closing duties, multitasking across bar and FOH, and collaborating with the team to create memorable dining experiences for our guests.

Qualifications

• 1–2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant.
• Ability to stand for up to 6 hours.
• Excellent communication in the predominant language of our guests.
• Current, valid California food handler card.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests at the bar with a friendly and inviting atmosphere.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests as they arrive at the bar, providing a friendly and inviting atmosphere.
• Greet guests upon seating and ensure they feel comfortable and attended to.
• Inform guests of any specials or menu changes and provide recommendations based on their preferences.
• Take beverage orders promptly and accurately, entering them into our point-of-sale system.
• Prepare and serve beverages, ensuring they are crafted to the highest standards, including following brand guidelines for ingredients, glassware, and garnishes.
• Deliver drinks promptly to all Guests at the bar.
• Prepare service well drinks for the restaurant, maintaining consistency and quality
• Responsible for espresso service for the restaurant and maintaining the machine throughout the shift.
• Ensure service well drinks were being delivered to tables in a timely manner, coordinating with other staff members as necessary.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including cleaning surfaces, restocking supplies, and disposing of waste.
• Opens and closes the bar following company guidelines, including the set-up of all bar supplies, glassware, garnish and other products.
• Monitor guests' experience at the bar, ensuring their satisfaction and promptly addressing any concerns.
• Maintain bartop and other areas of the bar throughout shift, including bussing and resetting of bar top, restocking, and ongoing cleaning.
• Ensure that the speed of service at the bar top and tables is maintained in accordance with brand standards.
• Prepare final bill and process payment transactions accurately and efficiently.
• Assist other team members as needed to ensure the smooth operation of the bar and restaurant.
• Must be flexible and willing to assist in any front-of-house (FOH) positions, including performing bathroom checks and cleaning, as needed.
• Thank guests for their patronage and invite them to return.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 1-2 years of bartending experience in a high-volume restaurant.
• Ability to work in a standing position for extended periods (up to 6 hours).
• Excellent communication skills in the predominant language(s) spoken by our guests.
• Exceptional grooming and personal hygiene habits.
• Previous experience in bartending
• Knowledge of beverage preparation techniques and ingredients.
• Over 21 years of age
• Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
• Current, valid California food handlers card
