Job summary

Keke’s Breakfast Café - Sunnyvale is seeking a friendly server to deliver attentive service and enhance the guest experience at our Sunnyvale location. The role requires at least one year of serving experience and a bubbly personality, along with strong communication and cash handling abilities.

As part of a fast-paced team, you will greet guests, take orders, upsell items, and ensure smooth service from arrival to checkout while supporting coworkers and maintaining a positive dining environment.

Qualifications

• 1 year of serving experience in a fast-paced restaurant environment.
• Fun, energetic and positive personality to engage with guests.
• Ability to stand for long periods (up to 6 hours).
• Strong communication skills in the predominant language(s) of our guests.
• Basic math skills with the ability to operate a cash register or POS system.
• Current, valid California food handlers card.

Responsibilities

• Welcome guests warmly upon arrival.
• Greet guests at the table, ensuring they feel comfortable and well taken care of.
• Inform guests about specials, menu changes, and substitutions.
• Upsell menu items, beverages, and specials and maintain sales targets.
• Take food and beverage orders promptly and enter them into the POS system.
• Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to guests in a timely manner.
• Maintain clean service areas and assist during busy periods.
• Ensure guest satisfaction with both food and service and manage requests promptly.

Each server’s primary objective is to deliver outstanding service, while assisting co-workers to ensure a smooth and efficient restaurant operation. Duties & Responsibilities:

• Welcome guests warmly upon arrival.
• Greet guests at the table, ensuring they feel comfortable and well taken care of.
• Inform guests about specials, menu changes, and any available substitutions.
• Upsell menu items, beverages, and specials and maintain required sales performance targets.
• Answer questions about the menu, beverages, and other restaurant services.
• Take food and beverage orders promptly and enter them into the point-of-sale system.
• Take drink orders and serve beverages from the bar to the table.
• Deliver food and beverages from the kitchen to guests in a timely manner.
• Perform side work at the start and end of each shift, as assigned.
• Maintain clean service areas.
• Monitor guests' dining experiences, ensuring satisfaction with both food and service.
• Respond promptly and courteously to any requests or concerns.
• Prepare the final bill, present the check, and process payments.
• Pre-bus tables and assist the busser with clearing and cleaning during busy periods.
• Thank guests for dining with us and invite them to return.
• Be ready and willing to assist co-workers as needed.
• Fill in as required to ensure smooth restaurant operations as directed by the restaurant manager or immediate supervisor.
• Must be flexible and willing to assist in any front-of-house (FOH) positions, including performing bathroom checks and cleaning, as needed.
